Baked Spicy Cake Donuts
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup cake flour
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup confectioner's sugar
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, optional
1. Preheat oven to 325 F. Spray doughnut pan with non-stick spray.
2. In large bowl mix flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
3. In another bowl, stir together milk, eggs, vanilla and oil.
4. Add to flour mixture and stir until well blended.
5. Fill each donut cup approximately 3/4 full.
6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven, or until donuts spring back when touched.
7. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.
8. GLAZE:
9. Blend confectioners sugar and hot water in a bowl, add cocoa if desired.
10. Dip donuts in the glaze.
